Margreet Lommerts (1980) is specialised in European Public Affairs and related Organisational Management. She has a Bachelor degree in European Studies from the University of The Hague and holds a Masters in Public Administration from the University of Leiden.
Following experience gained at Dutch consultancies in the Hague, she joined the office of MEP Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert in the European Parliament in Brussels in 2005 as a policy advisor. In this position she was dealing with files in the policy area of transport and became experienced in EU decision making, EU politics, communication, and campaigning.
She then joined the Association of European Airlines (AEA) in 2011 as Manager Security, facilitation and cargo. She successfully contributed to a cargo security agreement between the EU and US. In 2013 she became AEA’s senior Manager for Public Affairs and created its public affairs function, including the internal communication and management of advocacy activities within the political, communication and research teams of the AEA.
