"Even on a national level, there are few issues in which the European Union does not have a role. Translating interests of my clients in strategies and exploring possibilities in this arena is something I am very passionate about. "
Merel van Doorn (1992) joined Dr2 Consultants as a Junior Consultant in March of this year. Merel has always been interested in a variety of things, which is reflected in her studies and career. Merel obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology at the Radboud University of Nijmegen. However, she soon realized that just the personal level wasn’t enough for her. Because of her interest in international politics, Merel started her Master’s in International Relations & Diplomacy at Leiden University. After two intensive years of study and a half-year internship at the Embassy of the Netherlands in Thailand, Merel graduated in the summer of 2016.
Before joining with Dr2 Consultants, Merel worked as a trainee in the European Parliament, where she had the chance of gaining much knowledge on the decision-making processes that characterize EU politics and dynamics. This is the period in which she got enthusiastic about the consultancy-side of the spectrum. Public affairs, more specifically, represents exactly what Merel finds interesting about the Brussels’ landscape, as they are at the interface of both psychology and international relations.
