“Public Affairs gives me the opportunity to bridge the gap between EU policy and practice by bringing together EU decision-makers and our clients.”
Mashid studied law at Maastricht University. She obtained a Bachelor's Degree in European Law, after which she enrolled in the master program Dutch Law. As part of her Bachelor's Degree, she studied and compared various diverging legal systems, on a national, European, and international level. During her Bachelor's Degree, Mashid interned at the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets, where she introduced a new stakeholder strategy and analyzed the impact of the new Consumer Protection Policy. In the Master's program, she is mostly intrigued by the influence of EU legislation and policy on Dutch private law.
Thanks to her legal background, she is aware of the application and different interpretations of policy within society, which further increases her understanding of the influence and limitations of politics.
Alongside her studies, Mashid participated in political simulations (MUN), published her first legal publication, and served as a student ambassador of Veerstichting. To this day, she is an active member of Volt South Limburg (NL).
